I love you

" Babe… you have been my dreams fulfilled since the night 8 months ago. The idea of being without you makes me ache inside. You are already my wife. This is why I was so nonchalant. Engagement or not… I am yours, forever. Until the last breath escapes me, I am yours. Let’s celebrate our soon to be union with the world as if it’s something new to us. For us, I have always felt, we are already joined. I love you more deeply every moment"

Timing

I had a lovely dinner with Claudia today.

We laughed, loved, and shared ourselves. We both kept talking about timing. How we had all these plans. Ideas of where we thought we should go, places or things we felt led to. How over the last year God has been redirecting both of our hearts. At points, I smiled because I experienced many of the same struggles and feelings she did. She was in Chile... I was in Birmingham, AL. Yet God was teaching us both to follow. Despite what my mom said. Despite the logical way. Despite me.

It made me think all evening about what a blessing this year really has been. Friends have come and gone. Some have come back (CLAUDIA :) :) ) and some have gone forever. I've learned to follow, even when its scary. I've read more than ever. I've been challenged with new concepts and slowly God is breaking down the walls I have put him in. Doors have been opened that weren't even visible 6 months ago. I have grown.

Father,
Thank you for putting amazing, encouraging people in my life. Ones that build me up. That confirm what I already know. You are what I seek. Keep my feet straight even when when the path is hard. Continue to reveal yourself. You are truly sovereign.

Beautiful.

I've been talking to several friends lately. Beautiful, amazing women. Women I want to be more like. Ones I want to spend time with. Ones that can make me giggle incessantly or I can cry with. They push me to be a better person.

But as I crack open their tough exteriors - I find far too often we look the same. We are broken. Broken by relationships (romantic and not). We a critical of ourselves. We feel too fat, too thin, too ugly, too serious, too goofy, too smart, too dumb.... we're always lacking. Always in need of improvement. We never feel good enough.

These are people that AMAZE me. It saddens my heart that they listen to whoever told them they weren't beautiful the way they are. Beautifully and wonderfully made. It makes me angry at any man or woman who has told them diferently.

But then I evaluate my own heart... there are times I feel just as broken. Not good enough. I could lose this or change that. I could be better at this or be more girly at this moment. I feel lacking. I feel less than wanted. It hurts.

Father, continue to show me my broken places. Show me who I am in your eyes. Remind me, that I am enough. That you use broken people. That I am a child of God, created in the image of God, for Your purposes. Remind my friends of the same. Use me. Heal me.
